YouTuber Douglas Tandoh, 26, known as DLuxx died in horror crash on flooded road while on way home from party | The Sun

YOUTUBER Douglas Tandoh died in a horror crash as he made his way home from a party.

An inquest heard today the YouTube sensation, also known as DLuxx, was travelling in his friend's Vauxhall Astra during a storm.

The 26-year-old was a passenger when pal Eyram Tetteh lost control driving through a big puddle in October 2021.

The car left the A35 in Dorset and crashed head-on into a tree before tipping on its side.

Emergency services were alerted when Eyram's Apple watch sent an SOS.

The SOS also sent a recording of him "mumbling" after the crash.

Douglas was described as an "able and talented" social media expert.

The hearing heard how the stretch of road where Douglas died flooded regularly.

David Burgess, who was on his way to work at the time, said: "It was dark and the weather was horrendous.

"From local knowledge I am aware of floods quite regularly."

He said in the weeks leading up to the crash he had seen "at least four other vehicles" waiting to be recovered.

Another witness, Samuel Truan, said he could hear someone "shouting help".

He said: "Large parts of the road was flooded as we approached. I saw some hazard lights flashing to the left.

"I saw a car that had left the road and crashed into a tree. It was on four wheels and there was a lot of damage.

"As we approached I called 999. I could hear someone shouting 'help'.

"The male was partly outside the window with his legs in the car sitting on the window trim."

'HE WAS SUPPOSED TO MAKE IT TO THE END WITH US'

In an emotional tribute on behalf of Douglas' family, brother Christopher said they had recently lost their dad before the tragedy.

He said: "He was supposed to make it to the end with us. He was supposed to be there for all the big emotional moments in our lives.

"We have just lost our dad, as well. Everyone is quite overwhelmed."

Pathologist Dr Basil Purdue said Douglas, who had his seat belt on at the time, is likely to have struck his head on the dashboard, fracturing his skull.

He said: "I was informed that the driver was wearing an Apple watch and that was what had given the signal.

"That sent a message saying he had had a fall. The emergency services could hear him mumbling to the passenger.
