A family in Florida has claimed they have been terrorized by a gang of masked teens who have been banging on their door in the middle of the night for more than a year.

Surveillance footage captured the group sneaking up to their Fort Myers home late at night and aggressively smashing it.

The annoying incidents paused for a brief moment during the summer break in June but they have since restarted now that schools are open again.

Police believe it may be part of some a TikTok challenge with families unsure why they’ve become targets.

Officers have asked for the public’s help in identifying the group of masked teens so they can put an end to their mischief.

‘We are on edge every single weekend when the sun goes down,’ the frustrated homeowner who was only identified as Kevin told WINK News.

‘I find myself looking out the window trying to see if I can see anybody approaching the property. So, they’re trespassing and harassing.

‘They’re stalking us every weekend. For over a year and a half. It’s got to stop.’

Footage shows one of the teenagers, who is not wearing a mask, attempting to execute a karate kick as he smashed the front door and knocked a floral wreath to the ground.

In another video, three others are seen knocking on front door and the two front windows of the property before they shout and scream while running away.

‘They won’t leave us alone,’ Kevin said. ‘We’re peaceful people. We haven’t done anything to deserve this.’

He and his family have been terrified that things could one day escalate with the teenagers trying to get inside their home.

Police have said other homes in the area have been targeted by the group of teenagers in the last year and believe it could be part of a social media challenge.

They have asked for help to identify the masked hooligans and stop them from terrorizing families in the middle of the night.

Professor David Thomas specializes in forensic studies at Florida Gulf Coast University and warned this challenge could go wrong.

He thinks it could cost the teenagers their life if they come across someone who feels like their life is in danger and decides to use lethal force.

‘Is the TikTok challenge worth your life? I guess that’s probably the best way to look at it,’ he said.
