Daiso California Recalls Tohato And Kashiwado Snacks

La Mirada, California-based Daiso California LLC is recalling various Tohato and Kashiwado snacks citing undeclared allergen ingredients, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration said.

The recall involves TOHATO brand’s Caramel Corn – Boys Festival 80g, Caramel Corn – The Star Festival 80g, Harvest Sesame 94g, Harvest Biscuits 4 kinds of nuts 94g, Caramel Corn 80g, Almond Caramel Corn 70g, Bitter Caramel Corn 77g, Caramel Corn 2 pack 23g, Caramel corn 5 pack 105g, Caramel Corn 4 pack 40g, and Nagewa Snack seaweed flavor 71g.

The recall also includes KASHIWADO Hitoritoiro Fly Beans Senbei.

These products have the possible presence of allergens that may include Almond, Peanuts, Soybean, Sesame, Milk and Shellfish.

Tohato and Kashiwado Snacks were sold in Daiso stores in California, Washington, Nevada, Texas, New York, and New Jersey.

The recall was initiated after it was discovered that packaging did not adequately disclose the presence of all allergens.

People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to almonds, peanuts, soybeans, milk, and shellfish may get serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.

However, there have been no reported cases of allergic reaction to these products to date.

The company has suspended sale of the products, and has pulled the products from store shelves.

Consumers who have purchased the affected Tohato or Kashiwado snacks are urged to return them to any Daiso store for a full refund.
