A woman who tore up a Lamborghini in a crash, damaging her own car in the process, has been spared jail and fined just £40.

Kayleigh Finnie, 36, was driving a black Alfa Romeo Giulietta when she smashed into the yellow Lamborghini Aventador on Cheapside in Waltham, Lincolnshire.

Police discovered the 2016 Lamborghini lying across the road after the incident, with dark skid marks and scuffed up verges beside it. 

Finnie’s Alfa Romeo was several hundred metres away at the side of the road.

The road was closed for two and a half hours while Humberside Police carried out an investigation.

No one was seriously injured in the crash.

After pleading guilty, the defendant, who lives in Grainthorpe, Lincolnshire, was given three points on her licence and made to pay a £40 fine and £34 victim surcharge.

The crash took place at around 4pm on July 5, 2021.

The Lamborghini, which costs between £250,000 and £300,000 second hand, is thought to have been written off.

The Aventador is a popular car with the rich and famous. 

Singer Justin Bieber, rapper Kanye West and football player Cristiano Ronaldo have all previously owned the model. 

There are fewer than 600 Lamborghini Aventadors in the UK.

The sports car has a top speed of 217mph and can go from zero to 60mph in 2.9 seconds.
