Teen, 19, charged with raping girl, 15, in sea at Bournemouth in front of holidaymakers | The Sun

A MAN has been charged with raping a teen girl in the sea at a popular beach resort.

The 15-year-old was attacked near the Oceanarium in Bournemouth, Dorset.

Police have now charged a 19-year-old man with rape following the alleged horror.

Gabriel Marinoaica will appear at Poole Magistrates’ Court on June 16.

He has also been charged with four counts of sexual assault.

Police were scrambled to the beach on July 18, 2021, following reports the girl had been raped in the sea.

She was playing with her friends at the time when she was allegedly pulled deeper into the water.

Detective Inspector Mark Jenkins, of MCIT, said: “Dorset Police takes all reports of rape and sexual offences extremely seriously and we ensure victims are fully supported throughout the investigation.

"In this case, extensive and lengthy enquiries, followed by a detailed submission to the Crown Prosecution Service, have led to them authorising charges in this case.

"We have kept the victim and their family closely informed throughout and will continue this support through the court processes.
