How Liverpool shooting unfolded: Tragic minutes that led to innocent Olivia’s death as 9-year-old gunned down at home | The Sun

A TRAGIC nine-year-old was shot dead as she stood terrified behind her mum after a gunman burst into her family home.

Olivia Pratt-Kobel was killed after a 35-year-old man ran into the house in Liverpool while being chased by a masked assassin.

Her mum Cheryl was also injured in the horror as she frantically tried to stop the killer entering her home.

The bloodbath unfolded at around 10pm last night as the 35-year-old and another male walked along Kingsheath Avenue from the direction of Finch Lane.

Police said they were approached by a "lone" person wearing a black padded jacket, a black balaclava with a peak, dark pants and black gloves.

He then opened fire on the pair using a handgun he was wielding – causing mum Cheryl to open her front door to see what was going on.

The 35-year-old then rushed inside closely followed by the gunman as Cheryl desperately tried to stop the men.

She was shot in the wrist as the killer began blindly shooting with "complete disregard" while Olivia was hit in the chest.

Shockingly, as Olivia lay dying, the 35-year-old was picked up in a black Audi and taken to hospital with multiple wounds.

Police have launched a murder probe and are currently hunting the "cowardly" gunman who fled the scene.
