Eco-idiots glue themselves to floor at VW dealer – and then MOAN they 'can't use toilet or get food' when staff go home | The Sun

ECO-ZEALOTS who glued themselves to the floor of a Volkswagen dealership moaned they couldn't use the toilet or get food after staff went home.

Unimpressed employees at the showroom in Germany locked the doors, switched off the lights and dialed down the heating at the end of the working day.

But the group of nine activists from the "Scientist Rebel" group complained they were left in the dark during the demonstration.

They had stormed the showroom in Wolfsburg in protest of Volkswagen, the second-largest car producer in the world.

The eco-idiots then glued their hands to the ground on the Porsche pavilion floor in the company's Autostadt building on Wednesday.

But they were left disgruntled when the staff refused to offer them a container to relieve themselves in while letting the temperature drop.

And despite some protestors being on hunger strike, others were feverishly unhappy with the lack of food choices.

Scientist Rebel frontman Gianluca Grimalda explained the conditions the group – wearing white lab coats – were facing in a Twitter thread.

He wrote: "@VW told us that they supported our right to protest, but they refused our request to provide us with a bowl to urinate and defecate in a decent manner while we are glued and have turned off the heating.

"We can't order our food, we must use the one provided by Volkswagen. Lights off.

"Random unannounced checks by security guards with bright torches."

The activists staged the bold sit-in in the hopes of encouraging the government and big firms to decarbonise the German transport sector.

They want leading conglomerate VW to advance the fight against pollution.

Protestor Gianluca later told his social media followers he was forced to leave the protest due to a medical issue with his hand.

He says his hands swelled up after being glued to the ground for 24 hours, before doctors warned him he could have "life-threatening blood clots".

The scientist was taken to hospital where he continued his hunger strike in support of the demonstation.

Pictures of the VW incident shared online showed six of the protesters glued to the ground in front of three Porsches.

A crowd of scientists were reportedly gathered outside the building in support of the barmy demonstration.
