Boy, 5, killed by a lorry in horror crash as he 'cycled his Spider-Man bike across street' | The Sun

A FIVE-YEAR-OLD boy has died after his Spider-Man bike collided with a lorry in the West Midlands, it's reported.

The tot was fatally injured in a horror crash in Walsall this morning.


The tragedy happened at a pedestrian crossing in West Bromwich Road.

Specially-trained forensics officers were seen inspecting the little one's bicycle this afternoon.

They also took photographs of the large HGV, which is believed to have been carrying food waste.

Two men at the scene told Birmingham Live they're supporting the lad's family after the tragedy.

One local told the paper: “I heard sirens earlier today.

"It’s so sad what has happened, that poor boy."

Another said: “I’ve heard that a young lad has died.

"It’s just so very sad.”

The road was cordoned off for most of the day, with motorists told to avoid the area.

It has recently reopened.

News of the devastating collision comes amid a series of fatal crashes around the country.

A six-month-old baby boy has died after a blue Ford Focus smashed into a parked car and flipped in Clacton, Essex.

The smash happened in Cherry Tree Avenue at around 6.45 pm on Wednesday.

A woman who is not related to the baby, has been arrested on suspicion of a number of driving offences, including causing death by dangerous driving.

Two people, a man and a woman, were killed in a collision in Battersea, London in the early hours of yesterday morning.

They were fatally injured when a Mini Cooper flipped onto its roof.

A 22-year-old woman was later arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

A three-year-old boy also died yesterday after he was hit by a tractor near Bury in Greater Manchester.

He lost his life before reaching the hospital. Police are investigating.
