Boy, 15, rushed to hospital after being attacked with machete as cops hunt knifeman | The Sun

A 15-year-old is fighting for his life in hospital after being attacked with a machete.

Emergency services charged to Harehills Park area of Leeds, West Yorks, at around 6pm on Sunday following reports of a serious assault.

They discovered the boy with serious head injuries and he was taken to hospital where he remains but his attacker is still on the run.

Increased stop and search powers are in place across the Harehills and Chapeltown areas until 8am on Monday as cops hunt the culprit.

Superintendent Lee Berry, of Leeds District Police, said extensive enquiries are ongoing into the horror.

He added: “We understand that this incident will cause some concern within the local community.

"Serious violence cannot and will not be tolerated and we will continue to do everything we can to take positive action against those who engage in such behaviour."
