A person has died in a serious incident on train tracks in Yorkshire this morning.
Emergency services travelled to railway tracks near Pope Street in the Lower Altofts area of Wakefield.
Eyewitnesses claimed they saw multiple vehicles at the scene, including three ambulances and fire engines.
Yorkshire Ambulance Service told MailOnline they attended an incident in the area at around 10am this morning.
British Transport Police told The Mirror: ‘Officers of British Transport Police were called to the railway lines in the Normanton area of Wakefield at 10:10 this morning following reports of a casualty on the tracks. Paramedics also attended however sadly a person has been pronounced dead at the scene.’
