Trump: I’ll work with UK prime minister — no matter who wins

President Trump on Tuesday said he’ll work with whoever gets elected as the next UK prime minister — as he promised to stay out of Britain’s upcoming election.

“I don’t want to complicate it. I’ll stay out of the election,” Trump said in London as he kicked off two days of meetings with NATO alliance members.

“I’ll stay out of it, but I think Boris is very capable and he will do a good job.”

Asked whether he could work with Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn, who is seeking to oust Prime Minister Boris Johnson in the Dec. 12 election, Trump replied, “I can work with anybody. I’m a very easy person to work with. You wouldn’t believe it.”

Last week, Johnson suggested Trump butt out of the pivotal election, saying “the best [thing] when you have close friends and allies like the US and the UK is for neither side to get involved in each other’s election.”

Trump has previously said Corbyn would be “so bad” for Britain if he won.
