THREE children, aged four, six and eight, have been killed in a horror crash on the A40 near Oxford.
A 29-year-old woman, believed to be their mum, also died when their people carrier crashed with the HGV last night.
A man, 30, and girl, aged 18 months, are fighting for their lives in hospital.
Paramedics rushed to the scene and were horrified by the wreckage, cops said.
Thames Valley Police said tragedy struck when the family's silver Subaru people carrier and a lorry collided near a railway overbridge.
Two girls, aged four and eight, a six-year-old boy and a woman, 29, were pronounced dead at the scene.
Two other passengers in the Subaru, a 30-year-old man and an 18-month-old girl, have been taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.
The driver of the HGV, a 56-year-old man, suffered minor injuries.
Senior Investigating Officer Sergeant Dominic Mahon, of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, based at Bicester, said: “We are in the very early stages of our investigation into this incredibly tragic incident that has resulted in the deaths of four people from the same family.
"We will leave no stone unturned to ascertain what has caused this tragedy."
