Girl, 6, mowed down by car during police chase in Leeds
A LITTLE girl was rushed to hospital this afternoon after she was hit by a car which was being chased by police inLeeds.
The driver of the car didn't stop after mowing down the six-year-old, police alleged this afternoon.
The Ford Fiesta involved was being chased by a marked police car when the primary school pupil was hit.
It's understood she was using a pedestrian crossing when she was hurt.
Police tried to stop the Ford shortly before 1.55pm on the A6120 because they suspected it had fake plates.
But when the officers tried to make the driver pull over, it's alleged he sped away.
The police chased the vehicle for around four miles before the little girl was injured near a school in Nursery Lane.
The motorist drove off, abandoning the Fiesta a little while later.
The girl was taken to hospital by ambulance but was found to not have sustained any serious injuries.
A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said a 46-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
He is currently in custody.
