But wait! There’s more! There are also plans to create charging stations for charging up to multiple phones at once, plus a convenient charging station specifically for conference rooms.
The Booking System
eCharge’s booking system boasts many features that will streamline the process of finding, booking, and paying for hotel rooms and e-charging stations, all directly from your smartphone.
eCharge’s current main focus is the DACH region—that is, Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. The booking system will have an ever-growing list of all charging stations currently available in the DACH region. eCharge’s goal is to have over 1,000 on this list by the end of 2018.
For an example of how eCharge will work, let’s say a family from Hamburg, Germany wants to take a road trip to Zurich, Switzerland. That’s around a 9-hour journey, so they’ll need to stop somewhere along the way for the night to rest and charge up their beloved Tesla.
All they need to do is pull up the eCharge app, find a suitable hotel off the highway, book the room and e-charging station, and they’re all set. They can even pay in advance using a credit card, PayPal, or cryptocurrency. And since the eCharge community receives special discount rates from the hotels, the family will have a little extra cash in their wallet for their vacation.
Once they get to the hotel, they simply pull into an e-charging spot and use a QR code activation from their phone to automatically begin the charging process.
What Sets eCharge Apart From the Crowd
The real differentiator between eCharge and other companies that make e-charging products is that eCharge utilizes blockchain technology. This puts them way ahead of the curve, since their technology is more sophisticated than that of any of their competitors.
Blockchain allows eCharge to utilize smart grid technology that tracks and records each unit of energy distributed across the network in an unalterable ledger. This allows drivers to plug their cars into an eCharge charging station and sell power back to the grid—drivers can effectively make cash while they sleep! And there’s no need to worry about your car’s battery being drained when you wake up, as the smart grid knows to fill your battery back up by the morning.
