  • Miami home rentals range from sophisticated condos to tropical cottages steps from the beach.
  • We rounded up top Airbnbs across Miami’s vibrant neighborhoods, ranging from $82 to $501 per night.

Miami’s wide sandy beaches, Art Deco architecture, cosmopolitan and Latin American flare, and year-round warm weather have long made it a favorite for those making a pleasure trip, or those looking to make a business trip much more pleasurable.

Many East Coasters who now have the option to work remotely continue to flock to Florida, and Miami in particular, for long-term stays and even permanent moves. Whether you’re a curious, potential new resident or just a tourist in need of a sun-filled break, what you’ll find exploring Miami is dynamic neighborhoods with unique personalities. While the iconic shores and electric energy of South Beach often get most of the attention, consider a stay in the aptly named Design District, the residential-meets-retail enclave of Brickell, or the art-infused Wynwood neighborhood to discover a different side of Magic City.

While many in the work-from-home crowd have escaped to Miami and other parts of South Florida this winter to break free from the banality of ongoing quarantine and winter woes (or both), it’s important to remember that there’s still an inherent risk to traveling during the pandemic. We always recommend following guidelines from the CDC, practicing social distancing, double masking, and washing hands frequently.

With safety in mind, if you do decide to travel right now, Airbnbs are especially appealing since experts and the CDC and experts note that private vacation rentals are a safer option during COVID-19 than hotels. Though if you do prefer a hotel stay, start with our guide to the best hotels in Miami.

We chose top Miami Airbnbs based on the following criteria:

  1. Safety is paramount right now, so each of these Airbnb listings are for the entire home, and most of them offer contactless check in.
  2. We kept affordability in mind, but chose properties ranging in starting price from $82 to $501 per night. Keep in mind that right now is peak season when prices often surge.
  3. All are highly-rated Airbnb listings, either listed by Superhosts with consistently high ratings or review scores of 4.85 and higher. One featured property is even part of Airbnb’s exclusive Luxe portfolio.
  4. Each listing has committed to Airbnb’s Enhanced Cleaning Protocol, which sets a high standard for cleanliness between guest visits.
  5. Properties range from unique to contemporary and all are located in Miami’s most desirable neighborhoods, close to restaurants, shopping, and other conveniences.

Here are the best Airbnbs in Miami, sorted by price from low to high.

Cute cottage with a pool in Brickell, $120

Book this cute cottage with a pool starting at $120 per night

La Casita Blanca is named for its bleach-white exterior, which is trimmed with a line of turquoise. But inside, you’ll find contemporary furnishings in muted tones and a kitchen with bright blue-tiled countertops. Like many Airbnbs in Miami, though, this space is all about the outdoors. Large planter pots, a trellis with greenery, round white garden stepping stones, and a garden wall that separates an eating nook with brightly-hued chairs and overhead string lights should be an attractive enough reason to book.

If you do check in and decide to enjoy the outdoor living and dining room, though, you should like cats. The owner, who lives on the property in the main house, has an outside rescue cat that you’re likely going to interact with during a stay. The kidney-shaped pool — complete with dolphin mosaic tiles — is located in the private, secluded, and fenced yard. Bear in mind that it’s also shared by the main house.

Close to fashionable Brickell and Little Havana — a vibrant neighborhood where Cuban culture thrives — this place also scores points for location. Make your way to Versailles for an authentic cafecito or croquetas and an out-of-this-world Cuban sandwich. In Brickell, entertain your glitzier side by dining at Komodo, a three-story, indoor/outdoor restaurant where South Florida sophistication meets Southeast Asian flavors.

The open floor plan has a connected living, dining and kitchen area, with the eight-person eating space highlighted by an elongated globe chandelier over a long rectangular table. Within eyesight of the dining table is the large gourmet kitchen blanketed in white lacquer cabinets, high-end appliances, and a handsome wine fridge that will encourage you to bring along a few bottles from your own collection.

Three plush, light-filled bedrooms — one with its own sitting area — and a large, hotel-like full bathroom add depth to the space, as do the multiple outdoor spaces. One highlight is a seating area in a covered outdoor space with a ceiling that resembles a spectrum of colors in a kaleidoscope.
