Blockchain’s Bitex Partners With Alto Viaje For Public Transport Using Bitcoin

Riders in 37 Argentine localities will be able to travel on public transport using cryptocurrencies as part of an alliance between Bitex and Alto Viaje.

Users can charge their SUBE cards with bitcoins using Alto Viaje, a platform that allows online cards to be loaded using a solution provided by Bitex, a blockchain solutions company that provides the infrastructure for various bitcoin projects.

“We believe that this type of project is of great importance, since it brings technology as disruptive as bitcoin to the common people, demonstrating the true value and the applications it has in everyday life,” said Manuel Beaudroit, CMO of Bitex. The minimum charge in bitcoins will be 50 pesos.

Alto Viaje decided to use Bitex’s infrastructure for the technology and liquidity, a necessary condition to enable a project of this magnitude.

“We want to offer safe and innovative services,” said Luciano Verardo, the director of Alto Viagj. “The alliance with Bitex allows us to integrate the payment with bitcoins and create new possibilities of financial inclusion for people and companies.”
