Ripple’s Fundraising Arm Xpring Invests In XRPL Labs – New DEX, Mobile Wallet And Cold Storage OS Are On The Way
Ripple is making significant investment moves again.
Xpring is Ripple’s fundraising arm, and now it’s investing in XRPL Labs which is a brand new company created by the XRP developer Wietse Wind.
More projects in the works
XRPL Labs has a few projects in the works, and these include a decentralized exchange, mobile wallet, and cold storage OS.
Ripple is said to be investing an unknown amount in XRPL Labs, and this will allow the developer to work on these projects full time together with two employees.
Wietse is the same developer who creates XRP Tip Bot a while ago. This allows users of the popular platforms Twitter, Discord, and Reddit send XRP to one another.
Wietse Wind is a famous XRP developer
He also uploaded the whole XRP Ledger to BigQuery, allowing the browsing of the transactions history and performing deep dives into the data on the ledger.
Xpring director Vanessa Pestritto says the decision to invest in XRPL Labs was a no-brainer.
“At Xpring, we are focused on growing the ecosystems around the Interledger Protocol and XRP Ledger. To do so, we need to work with developers that share our vision of interoperable blockchains and new use cases for XRP,” she said.
She continued and explained that “One of those developers is Wietse Wind. Wietse not only has excellent past experience but understands the protocols and technical details of both the XRP Ledger and Interledger Protocol.”
She also stated that she’s thrilled to announce that Xpring has invested in the developer’s XRPL Labs and she called his approach creative. She said that his leadership and ability to engage developers were also important triggers for their decision.
